Champion Laundry Service (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a drop-off laundry and dry cleaning shop based in Gampaha, Sri Lanka. We are the party responsible for your personal information (the “data controller”) under Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022. You can reach us at:

Information you give us

When you contact us through the website, by phone, on WhatsApp, or in store, we may collect:

• Your name and the details you choose to share with us.
• Your phone number, WhatsApp number or email address, so we can reply to you.
• Any message, request or enquiry you send us (for example, the items you would like cleaned).
• Order details when you drop off garments, such as the items, instructions and your order number.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our website, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This may include your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

Our online Order Status tool sends the order number you type to our secure order sheet to look up your order. We do not need any other personal detail for this lookup.

3. How we use your information

We only use your information for clear, honest reasons:

• To answer your enquiries and give you a quote.
• To provide our laundry and dry cleaning service and to keep you updated on your order.
• To contact you about your garments when they are ready or if we need to check something.
• To keep simple records of our work and improve our website and service.

We will never sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, and we will not use it to send you marketing you did not ask for.

Under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, we rely on one or more of the following:

• Your consent, for example when you message us or submit an enquiry.
• Providing our service to you, where processing your details is needed to handle your order.
• Our legitimate interests in running and improving a small local business in a fair way that does not override your rights.

5. Who we share it with

We keep your information within our shop wherever possible. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:

• Email delivery, to send and receive enquiry emails from the contact form.
• Google Analytics, to measure website usage in an aggregated way.
• Our order status system, hosted on Google, to look up your order by its number.
• Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its files.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, by a court, or by a competent authority in Sri Lanka, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

6. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them mainly for Google Analytics, to understand how the website is used so we can make it better. These cookies do not read your personal files and we do not use them to identify you by name.

You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. If you do, most of the website will still work normally.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your information only for as long as we genuinely need it: to handle your order, to answer your questions, and to keep reasonable business records. When it is no longer needed, we take care to delete or securely dispose of it.

8. How we protect your information

Our website runs over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and we take reasonable technical and practical steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to your details inside our shop is limited to the people who need it to serve you.

9. Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
• Ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on your consent.
• Object to us using your information in a particular way.

10. Children’s privacy

Our service and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will remove it.

11. Other websites

Our website may link to other sites, such as our Google Business Profile or social media pages. This policy does not cover those sites, so please review their own privacy policies when you visit them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our service or the law changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Please check back now and then to stay informed.
